TV ads for sports beverages that are formulated to keep your body properly hydrated, while restoring vitamins and minerals that you need to perform properly under hot and demanding conditions, should serve as a reminder that your car is much like the body of a world-class athlete. When sufficiently fueled and fortified with the proper fluids; your car, truck or SUV should get you from the starting block to the finish line…without working up a sweat or stopping for a breather along the way.

Modern windshields are designed to protect you and your passengers from just about anything Mother Nature can throw at you, including: rain, snow, ice, insects, bird droppings, road grime, tree sap, and other messy deposits. But that doesn't keep these and other "Forces of Nature" from making one heck of a blurry mess that can make driving difficult or down right dangerous.

Pick-up trucks continue to be one of the most versatile and popular vehicles on American roadways. One reason is that automakers have kept them up with consumers’ tastes by arming them with more performance features and luxurious appointments. This has increased the average price and motivated owners to keep them longer. Thus, today’s upscale pick-up truck drivers see them as a valuable investment that warrants preventative maintenance and protective treatments, such as a bed liner.

Over 50 million pounds of lead per year are used in the production of wheel weights today, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). To help counter this problem, the EPA recently created the National Lead- Free Wheel Weight Initiative to help reduce the amount of lead released into the environment. 3M is pleased to be a charter member of this EPA initiative.

Hybrid motor vehicles are here, attracting widespread attention and growing sales, and hybrid automotive technology is advancing with every new model year. “Formula Hybrid,” an international competition at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH, encourages hybrid technology development utilizing a racing environment. The Speedway is home to many memorable NASCAR races, and is attracting industry support for the technology-building event.  

Statistics show that a third of all vehicle accidents and almost half of traffic fatalities happen at night. Most of these are usually blamed on reduced driver vision.
